Théière couverte en porcelaine de Frankenthal, vers 1770 A Frankenthal teapot and cover, circa 1770 Pear-shaped body with ear-shaped handle and spout both picked out in gilding, decorated with large polychrome pastoral scenes of a shepherd herding his livestock, the reverse with shepherdess and her animals, a ships mast in the further distance, the cover with similar scenes 12.5cm high, crowned CT monogram in underglaze-blue, incised H2 inside footrim (2) Footnotes: A similar teapot and cover, probably painted by the same artist with smaller-scale figures in similar scenes, together with the matching sugar bowl and cover and milk jug from a solitaire are illustrated in Carl Ludwig Fuchs (ed.), Die Solitaires der Manufactur Frankenthal, 1993, cat. no. 38.
