A 20-Bore 'English-Lock' (Type 2) Holster Pistol Partly Mid-17th Century With two-stage barrel incised with a line at the girdle, octagonal breech struck with spurious marks along the bottom flat and engraved at the rear, tang with pairs of incised lines, flat lock retained by three side-nails and with faintly inscribed signature apparently of William Fell, flat ring-neck cock and dog catch each with traces of engraved decoration, three-quarter stock carved with a feathered design behind the tang, rounded butt with border engraved ovoidal silver cap decorated with a rose and foliage (some wear), iron mounts comprising trigger-guard with pointed finial, fore-end cap and single ramrod-pipe, and silver-tipped ramrod (iron parts artificially pitted) 34.7 cm. barrel Footnotes: Literature John S.
