A GILT-LACQUERED WOOD SEATED FIGURE OF GUANYIN Ming Dynasty Seated in dhyanasana, the hands posed to possibly hold a lotus stem, wearing long robes falling in folds around his folded knees and tied on a bow at his belly below jewels framing his exposed chest, his downcast face with a serene and benevolent expression flanked by elongated earlobes suspending ornate earrings, remnants of gilt and lacquer visible throughout. 20cm (8 1/8in) high. Footnotes: Please note this Lot is to be sold at No Reserve. 本拍品不設底價 明 漆金木雕觀音菩薩坐像 Provenance: Ben Janssens Oriental Art, London 來源: 倫敦古董商 Ben Janssens Oriental Art Published, Illustrated and Exhibited: Ben Janssens Oriental Art, TEFAF 2018, London, 2018, pp.70-71. 展覽著錄: Ben Janssens Oriental Art,《TEFAF 2018》,倫敦,2018年,第70-71頁 The current lot is a rare example of Ming dynasty gilt-lacquered wood Buddhist sculpture.
