A GILT-LACQUERED WOOD SEATED FIGURE OF GUANYIN Ming Dynasty Seated in dhyanasana, the hands posed to possibly hold a lotus stem, wearing long robes falling in folds around his folded knees and tied on a bow at his belly below jewels framing his exposed chest, his downcast face with a serene and benevolent expression flanked by elongated earlobes suspending ornate earrings, remnants of gilt and lacquer visible throughout. 20cm (8 1/8in) high.
