The Lord of the Rings: Production-Worn Hobbit Feet worn by Dominic Monaghan as 'Merry' from The Return of the King, New Line Cinema, 1999-2000, foam-latex prosthetic feet, hand-painted in skin tones, with a layer of dark hair to the top of the foot attached to mesh, with G25:09_Merry3 written in black to the inside of each, worn by Dominic Monaghan as 'Merry' for one day of filming as was the case with all other feet (most pairs of feet were destroyed but the actor managed to salvage this pair), in glass display case with lock and key, with letter of authenticity signed by the actor, each 12in x 4 1/2in (30cm x 12cm) Footnotes: Made by the Weta Workshop make-up and prosthetics department. Hobbit feet like these were never typically reused, as they were glued to the actor's feet for filming, making it difficult to keep the prosthetics intact during the removal process. Meriadoc Brandybuck, or 'Merry', is one of the closest friends of Frodo Baggins, the main protagonist of the trilogy, as well as being a key member of the fellowship. Provenance: Gifted to the vendor by actor Dominic Monaghan. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
