Doctor Who: An Acetate Recording Of The TV Show's Iconic Theme Tune, 1964, labelled The Music Centre 50 New Bond Street, London, W.1. with typewritten recording details and printed Sample Record Not For Sale, 45rpm, in original plain paper sleeve, with background information on the recording and details of a proposed Doctor Who musical Mike Leander was involved with in 1993, Footnotes: Provenance: From the collection of arranger, songwriter and record producer, Mike Leander (1941-1996). Mike began his career with Decca Records in 1963. This acetate may well have been cut at Chappell's studio in New Bond Street in connection with the release, 60 years ago, of the Decca single in 1964, Doctor Who Original Soundtrack From The B.B.C. T.V. Series/This Can't Be Love, Decca F.11837. The B-side was credited to Brenda and Johnny with Music Director: Mike Leander. Written by Australian composer Ron Grainer, this theme tune accompanied the BBC TV show which first aired on 23rd November 1963. The music was developed by Delia Derbyshire and Dick Mills of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It is now widely regarded as an innovative and significant piece of electronic music, recorded some years before the production of synthesisers and multi-track mixing units. This Derbyshire arrangement remained the show's theme music, with a few minor edits, until the 17th Season, 1979-1980. Derbyshire herself did not receive an on-screen credit until the 50th Anniversary story in 2013. Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
