Paire de bouts de canapé en bois de Dipterocarpus pétrifié Datation : Pliocène Sumatra, Indonesia Provenant du même arbre, ces dalles de bois pétrifié poli présentent une texture d'écorce sur les bords extérieurs et des noyaux noirs. La forme elliptique témoigne des forces de compression au cours des millénaires qui se produisent parfois pendant le processus d'agatisation. 57 x 36 x 6 cm ; 23 kg (chacune) H. sur pied : 43 cm Pair of petrified Dipterocarpus wood slabs, mounted into side tables. Consecutive slabs from the same tree, these polished petrified wood slab display bark texture to the exterior edges and black cores. The elliptical form is a testament to the forces of compression over the millenia which sometimes occurs during the agatization process.
