A MANHATTAN NAVY MODEL SERIES II RIMFIRE CONVERSION REVOLVER, New York, New York, 1860-61. Serial number 5793, .36 caliber octagonal barrel marked on the top 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. NEW YORK.' with German silver front sight and loading lever below, the left side of the barrel frame stamped '9'; five-shot roller engraved cylinder with five scenes marked 'PATENTED DEC 27. 1859' the back of the cylinder shortened and with added cartridge retaining plate and hammer with added striker; steel frame, with brass trigger guard and grip strap, the front of the trigger guard marked '9'; walnut grip marked '9' on the right side, all visible serial numbers match including the wedge. Barrel lg. 5, overall lg. 10 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel transitioning to gray with scattered bluing remaining, especially on the underside, cylinder and frame toned to mottled gray, trigger guard and grip frame toned to yellow, grip has minor blemishes, action functions but cylinder does not lock up.
