A DUTCH/GERMANIC FLINTLOCK INFANTRY MUSKET AND BAYONET, third quarter of the 18th century. 42 1/2 in., .75 caliber octagon to round barrel with a partial cartouche on the top of the breech; curved convex lock plate with unbridled pan; walnut stock; iron furniture including a butt plate with a lobed tang, trigger guard with pointed tangs, slightly convex 'S' side plate and three barrel bands; sling swivels and steel rammer with flaring head and threaded end; the bayonet with four-step mortice, the socket marked 'C.No 43.' Overall lg. 57 1/4 in. Condition: Iron toned to mottled gray/brown; stock has old surface and scattered dings and dents; action functions properly.
