AN AMERICAN MILITARY MUSKET WITH BRITISH LONG LAND PATTERN PARTS, last quarter of the 18th century. 45 in., .80 caliber British Ordnance barrel with trace of Tower Ordnance proof marks on the top and the left side marked '18' over a crown over 'EI' barrel maker's mark for Edward Jordan; Pattern 1740 Land Service lock with double line border engraving and pointed tail engraved 'TOWER/1740' and engraved with a crown over 'GR' and marked with a crowned broad arrow below the pan, the inside of the plate marked with a crown over 'IC', crown over '49', a crown over 'V' and 'ID'; cherry stock; brass Land Pattern furniture including a butt plate with long stepped tang, trigger guard with acorn finial, convex side plate with long tail marked on the inside with a broad arrow and 'H' along with assembly number 'III', brass nose cap, three Ordnance-style rammer pipes and a mismatched entry pipe, steel rammer with button head and jag end. Overall lg. 61 1/8 in. Condition: Barrel and lock are toned to brown; stock has old surface and scattered dings, dents and scratches, brass toned to deep yellow, action functions properly.
