Vivienne Westwood (1941-2022) x Swatch 'Orb' Pop Swatch Wristwatch, Limited Edition 1993 Pale blue Lucite Orb design, golden sceptre and clear case, on black wide velvet and leather strap Dial 5cm diameter, strap 3cm wide, includes original Orb design case, booklet and box 11cm wide, 11cm deep, 18cm high (4in wide, 4in deep, 7in high) Footnotes: Swatch launched the POP-Swatch line in 1986. The main case 'pops' out of the plastic frame, offering versatile wear and easy interchangeability of watch straps. Renowned for its vibrant and bold aesthetics, this collection exemplifies Swatch's commitment to innovative fashion in wristwatches. 'Back in the eighties I had a dozen original Swatches, including several transparent 'jellies', a couple of Keith Harings and some of the early constructivist designs. I sold them all a few years ago but kept this back as I liked the Orb so much (I think it's one of the most original things she ever designed). My watch collection used to be ridiculous, but I only have a few left that I use. This, like most Swatches, I didn't buy one to wear. You only bought a Swatch to stare at it lovingly in its case. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
