SNAKE STICK PIN, CIRCA 1860 AND HEINRICH LEVINGER: JUGENDSTIL STICK PIN, LATE 19TH CENTURY 1st: Heinreich Levinger Jugendstil stick pin Opal cabochon Green plique-à-jour enamel Maker's mark for Heinrich Levinger Length 12.8cm 2nd: Diamond, hairwork and enamel snake stick pin, mid 19th century Cushion-shaped diamonds very approx. 0.10ct total Blue enamel Braided hairwork Length 8.2cm Fitted case Total weight approx. 7.0g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to the unhallmarked metal (1st: testing as silver, 2nd: snake motif testing as 19ct gold, pin testing as 8ct gold). 1: Stamped to reverse HL, DEPOSÈ and 900. Spots of discolouration throughout. Plique-à-jour enamel with some splitting/hairline cracks, eye visible in one section. Opal displaying green and violet play-of-colour with orange flashes. 2nd: Areas of discolouration commensurate with age. Diamonds bright and lively with some minor chips and abrasions visible under 10x magnification. ENAMEL In predominantly good condition, some cracks visible under closer inspection. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
