GRIMA: AGATE, SHELL AND GEM-SET 'SUPERSHELL' OBJECT D'ART, CIRCA 1971-1972 Brilliant-cut diamond Pear-shaped topaz Shell Agate 18 carat gold Signed Grima, maker's mark, London hallmark Length 7.8cm x 20.0 x 13.6cm, shell length approx. 7.0cm Weight approx. 406.5g Fitted maker's case Footnotes: Andrew Grima's 'Super-Shell' collection was launched in 1972. The range of jewellery was designed around a variety of large and unusual shells that Grima had acquired in Australia and which he converted into stylish pieces. Please note this lot will be subject to US Fish and Wildlife inspection if imported into the USA. OVERALL CONDITION Some light surface wear to the 18 carat gold. Stamped to base with London hallmark for 18 carat gold, maker's mark for Andrew Grima (AGLtd) and signed Grima. GEMSTONES Agate geode with a rough finish to the edges, typical structure visible to the naked eye. This condition report is provided for your convenience based on the opinion of our gemmologists. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
