Winlove/ 1842' on front free endpaper, 92 leaves, dust-staining and marks, black calf, g.e., worn, housed in a modern custom-made presentation box, 8vo (178 x 110mm.), nineteenth century Footnotes: RECIPES FROM THE GLOBE HOTEL, KING'S LYNN. The owner of our receipt book, Elizabeth Lucy Winlove (1823-1882) married Samuel Nicholas Marshall at Snettisham, Norfolk, in 1854, after working together at the Royal Hotel, Norwich where she was an accountant. The Register of King's Lynn Petty Sessions shows that Samuel Marshall became proprietor of Globe Hotel, Kings Lynn on 22 December 1863 and was advertising 'By Royal Appointment' on his letterhead by 1889. Described as a 'hotel keeper and farmer', he also held the lease of the Duke's Head in King's Lynn from June 1855 to Lady Day 1866.
