A fine pair of modern boxwood strung and inlaid mahogany knife urns on associated stands in George II style, containing a silver Old English Thread Edge pattern table service of flatware and cutlery Garrard & Co Ltd, London 1997 In the style of David Linley of pedestal vase form with vertical foliate banded panelled decoration, the ogee domed lids with knopped acorn finials rising to display fitted inner sections, on ogee footed crossbanded square bases signed and dated 'R Starling 1997/8' to underside, on two boxwood strung and inlaid mahogany pedestals. Containing a placings for twelve, comprising: table forks, dessert forks, dessert spoons, soup spoons, fish forks, fish knives, teaspoons, coffee spoons, pastry forks, table knives (two 1996), with stainless steel blades, dessert knives, with stainless steel blades, six table / serving spoons, a pair of sauce ladles, two butter knives, a cheese knife, with silver blade, and a pastry slice, (1986) with steel blade a pair of fish servers, and a three-piece carving set, with steel blades, height of urns 70cm height of urns on stands 130cm, weight excluding knives with steel blades 203oz. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
