Gripoix's meticulous poured-glass method allowed unprecedented freedom in colour and design, which Chanel harnessed by integrating vibrantly coloured glass ornaments into her collections. This partnership revolutionised fashion jewellery, legitimising imitation jewellery in haute couture.
