Comprising: 11 cups and saucers; 1 teapot; 1 milk jug and saucer. In glazed earthenware with contoured edges and gold highlights . Created in 1900 by Edmond Lachenal. Produced between 1901-1914 by the Keller and Guérin Manufacture (Lunéville, France). Marks on all or part of the service: - interlacing mistletoe, 'LES ANNALES POLITI. ET LIT.', 'KG', 'E Lachenal'. - stamped: 'F', 'L'. Footnotes: Le Musée d'Orsay (Paris) conserve une tasse à café et une soucoupe du service (inv. OAO 1394 1). The Musée d'Orsay (Paris) preserves one coffee cup and a saucer from this set (inv. OAO 1394 1). Historique Le service est créé pour être offert en prime d'abonnement de la revue 'Les Annales politiques et littéraires' pour l'année 1900 (abonnements clôturés en 1901). Edmond Lachenal réalise le dessin qui sera appliqué au pochoir et collabore avec la Manufacture Keller et Guérin pour la fabrication. Le service est édité jusqu'en 1914, quand les ateliers de la manufacture sont incendiés par les troupes allemandes. This service was created as a present for subscribers to the magazine 'Les Annales politiques et littéraires' for the year 1900 (subscriptions closed in 1901). Edmond Lachenal designed the stencil and worked with Manufacture Keller et Guérin to produce it. The service was edited until 1914, when the factory was burnt down by German troops.
