The mastery of the artisan is on full display. In pursuit of greatness, the blender embarks on a covenant with their ingredients, sharing a journey of mutualism and trust on the path toward balance, harmony and precision. Perfection, only close after many years; relies on the experienced master pallet, and decades of evolution through wood and time. In the words of founder, Shinjiro Torrii: 'To become a blender at Suntory, one needs to be able to communicate with whiskies that cannot speak.' This wisdom has been shared and carried on by all blenders to follow. Contact with Mizunara, Spanish, and American Oak have all left their subtle mark with the supervision of three generations of Chief Blenders. The elements are essential. Five supremely aged whiskies: Yamazaki from White Oak Casks, Lightly Peated Hakushu, Chita Grain, Yamazaki Spanish and Yamazaki Mizunara oak come together to form a beautiful composition at the hands of Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo. Hibiki 40 is a seminal work that far exceeds its parts and promises to deliver a meaningful and lasting impact to the privileged few. Kagami Crystal has crafted a 30-faceted bottle to showcase the golden liquid as it enchants from within. Adorned with traditional Japanese maki-e, mother-of-pearl inlay, and gold lacquer, and encapsulated by an outer box made of 12 Japanese wood varieties and features 12 faces it represents the bond between nature and its inhabitants.
