Two English delftware posset pots, circa 1680-1700 Of bellied form, with scrolled handles and S-shaped spouts, painted in blue with Chinese figures in extensive stylised landscapes, one example with the decoration outlined in dark manganese or black, 11.3cm and 12cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance With Simon Westman (right in photo) Graham Slater Collection It is interesting to compare the decoration on these pots, which are of almost identical form. The decoration is also closely related but the example with a strong turquoise glaze can be more confidently associated with Brislington. The 'trekked' and very strongly defined painted outline of the second posset pot is found on late 17th century Brislington but also occurred in London. The thick white glaze is perhaps more characteristic of London. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
