La torche tire son inspiration du cerisier Sakura, arbre emblématique du Japon, sur sa partie centrale figure l'emblème des Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo 2020. Designer/ fabricant : Tokujin Yoshioka Inc. Composée de 5 cylindres, elle possède un système à double combustion au propane qui produit une flamme bleue ainsi qu'une combustion catalytique sans flamme, ceci afin de garantir la permanence de la flamme tout en lui apportant une teinte tirant sur le rouge.
