A George III mahogany armchair Attributed to John Linnell, circa 1770 The arched shaped moulded back with pierced splat terminating in carved stiff leaf and acanthus leaves, the arms terminating in stiff leaves and balls, above a caned seat and floral gross and petit point needlework squab cushion on front fluted tapering legs and conforming feet, 63cm wide x 60cm deep x 97cm high, (24 1/2in wide x 23 1/2in deep x 38in high) Footnotes: For a very similar comparable armchair see Christie's, The Collector, 1 June 2020, lot 105. Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
