A late George III gilt and patinated bronze 'Weeks' inkstand Early 19th century, retailed by the Thomas Weeks Museum Mounted with a cast gilt bronze sight hound with two seals attached to a chair around the dogs collar, and a floral hinge topped ink pot flanking a ewer on a patinated log engraved 'Weeks Museum', mounted on a white marble canted rectangular plinth base, 14.5cm wide, 8cm deep, 14cm high (5 1/2in wide, 3in deep, 5 1/2in high) Footnotes: Thomas Weeks (1743-1834), established his Museum of Mechanical Curiosities at nos. 3 & 4 Tichborne Street, London, in circa 1797. As well as showcasing his collection of automata, clocks, temples, and other objects of curiosity the site also had a shop where inspired visitors could purchase a souvenir. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
