Charles Schwartz & Son—the oldest jeweler in Washington, D.C., established in 1888—brought Dr. Jane's vision to life in a design that doubles as both brooch and pendant. The chimpanzee delicately cradles what appears to be a Tanzanite, a nod to the rare and highly prized gemstone found only in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, East Africa—paying tribute to the land and wildlife she has spent her life protecting.
