Schutzmann München (ab 1844)". Ohne Rahmen. Großformatige Ölskizze als Vorarbeit für ein noch großformatigeres Gemälde. Verso stamp of the Munich paint material company ''A. Schutzmann München (ab 1844)''. Without frame. Painted virtuosically on canvas. Chronologically the painting should be close to the painting ''Seni by the Corpse of Wallenstein'' from 1855. In 1865 Piloty created the subject-related painting ''The Death of Caesar'', here too the two colours white and red strongly dominate against a dark background (Lower Saxony State Museum).
