Der Generalmajor in der Friedensuniform M 1910 mit angelegtem Ordensschmuck, seine Frau im Reformkleid, beide dem Betrachter zugewandt vor dunklem Hintergrund. Das Portrait des Generalmajors oben links mit Familienwappen. Beide Bilder in reliefiertem, vergoldetem Stuckrahmen, einer neuzeitlich. Stellenweise leicht beschädigt, Altersspuren. Bildmaße je ca. 60 x 76. Rahmenmaße ca. 95 x 79 bzw. 89 x 72 cm.Pippel war vor allem als Landschafts-, Interieur- und Portraitmaler tätig. Er studierte in Straßburg, Karlsruhe und Dresden.Generalmajor z.D. Raab war vom 29.8.1915 bis zum 22.7.1916 Kommandeur des 22. bayerischen Infanterie-Regiments "Fürst Wilhelm von Hohenzollern". Dieses Regiment tat sich unter seiner Führung besonders am 20. März 1916 vor Verdun hervor, als es den heftig umkämpften Wald von Avocourt nahm. He studied in Straßburg, Karlsruhe, and Dresden.Brigadier Raab commanded the 22nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Prince Wilhelm von Hohenzollern" from 29 August 1915 to 22 July 1916. Under his command, this regiment distinguished itself especially on 20 March 1916 at Verdun, when it took the heavily contested Avocourt Woods. Condition: II
