Kompositbogen im Mandschu-Stil mit Goldmalerei China, 19./Anfang 20. Jhdt.Reflex gekrümmte Wurfarme aus Horn, Bambus und leimgebetteten Tiersehnenfasern. Die Außenseiten bedeckt von Birkenrinde, die schwarz, weinrot und golden bemalt ist und Blüten, Ranken sowie chinesische Glückssymbole zeigt. Kräftige rotbraun und schwarz lackierte Ohren, am Ende mit quadratischem Querschnitt, Sehnenbrücken aus Holz. Griff mit hellem Kork ummantelt. Leicht beschädigt, Altersspuren. Spannweite 120 cm. Mit seinen übergroßen Ohren und Sehnenbrücken sowie ca. 5 cm breiten Wurfarmen verkörpert dieses Exemplar die Größe eines Bogens zum Test von Militäranwärtern in der Qing-Dynastie, vgl. Grayson, Charles E., Traditional Archery, Missouri 2007, S. 16, 18. The backs covered with birch bark, painted black, dark red and gold and embellished with flowers, tendrils and Chinese symbols of good luck. The sturdy ears lacquered in reddish-brown and black, of square cross-section at the tips, wooden string bridges. The grip wrapped in light-coloured cork. Slightly damaged, signs of age. The span measures 120 cm. With its oversized ears, string bridges and the circa 5 cm wide limbs, this example represents the size of bows used to train and test military candidates during the Qing dynasty, cf.
