He studied at Imperial Academy of Arts from 1852 and perfected in Paris from 1857 to 1860.In his paintings, he describes complex and sometimes tragic life situations with a meticulous attention to detail and a predominance of warm tones, ochre, brown and red. Probably because of both the death of his wife and the abandonment of his family, his paintings emanatea sense of despair, sadness and sorrow.This painting is part of a series of three canvases painted by Klodt at the command of the Community of «Soeurs de charité « to illustrate the death of a soldier.On the canvas, the sister holds a candle and a book in her hands and, taking the place of a deacon, she reads the mortuary text with the priest. The scene is set in the tent of the deceased soldier. Учился в Императорской Академии художеств с 1852 года и совершенствовался в Париже с 1857 по 1860 год.В своих картинах описывает сложные и порой трагические жизненные ситуации с тщательным вниманием к деталям и преобладанием теплых тонов, охры, коричневого и красного цветов.Вероятно из-за смерти жены и ухода из семьи его картины излучают чувство отчаяния, тоски и печали.Эта картина является частью серии из трех полотен, написанных Клодтом по заказу Общины «Сестер милосердия», и изображает смерть солдата. На полотне сестра держит в руках свечу и книгу и,заняв место дьякона, вместе со священником читает погребальную молитву. Действие происходит в палатке погибшего солдата. Клодт никогда не был на войне и в действительности не принимал участия в этой сцене, но переполняющая его чувственностьи суровые события в его личной жизни движут им и придают этому произведению трагическую особенность.Starting price : 40000
