Marco Zanuso (1916-2001)
Zanuso war ein in Mailand ansässiger Industriedesigner und Architekt der Nachkriegsjahre. Während seines Studiums an der Politecnico in Mailand kam er in Kontakt mit Architekten des Rationalismus, welche soziale Fragen in ihren Arbeiten adressierten. Zu seinen berühmten Gebäuden zählen der italienische Hauptsitz von IBM und ein experimentelles Siedlungsprojekt in Via Laveno. Marco Zanuso zählt zu den italienischen Designern der Nachkriegsjahre, die das moderne Design in eine neue Richtung wiesen. (tm)

Marco Zanuso (1916-2001)
Marco Zanuso was an industrial designer and architect based in Milan during the post-war period. Zanuso studied at the Politecnico in Milan where he met the Rationalists architects bringing social issues into their work. Some of his most famous buildings include the Italian Headquarters of IBM and an experimental housing project in Via Laveno. As an industrial designer, Zanuso aligned himself with the Museum of Modern Art and the principles of good design that the museum promoted. Zanuso was one of the post-war Italian designers that helped define the new trends in modern design. (tm)
