A GROUP OF FIVE VERY FINE FRENCH WWI RELATED WATERCOLORS, CIRCA 1914-1917. Comprising two watercolor on paper paintings depicting French armored vehicles, each artist signed by Charles Fouqueray (1869-1956) and each dated, one 1914, the other 1915 and each additionally inscribed, 7 inches x 10 inches each (18 x 25.5 cm) and in matching glazed frames. Together with three watercolors by French artist Alfred Levard, one depicting the Reims Cathedral in winter with soldiers in foreground, signed A. Levard and inscribed Reims and dated 1916, 5.5 inches x 5.5 inches (14 x 14 cm), another depicting a nocturnal winter military aviation scene of a plane dropping flares and dated 1916, 5.25 inches x 4 inches (13.5 x 10 cm), and a painting of a crashed airplane, signed A. Levard, dated 1917 and inscribed in French “Near Champagne.” 5 inches x 4.25 inches (12.5 x 11 cm). Each contained in attractive glazed frames.
