Öl auf Kupfer. 7,8 x 6,5 cm.
In den Zwickeln bezeichnet: „Dorathea Grävin Zue Erpach / Geborne Reissinn Von / Plaweyn ATA: 25 / ANNO DOMINI 1590“
Dorothea wurde 1566 als Tochter des Grafen Heinrich XV. Reuß von Plauen und dessen Gemahlin Marie Salome von Oettingen-Oettingen geboren. Sie war die dritte Frau des Grafen Georg III. zu Erbach, starb jedoch 1591 nur vier Jahre nach ihrer Heirat und ein Jahr nach der Anfertigung unseres Bildnisses.

Inscribed to the spandrels: "Dorathea Grävin Zue Erpach / Geborne Reissinn Von / Plaweyn ATA: 25 / ANNO DOMINI 1590". Dorthea was born in 1566 as the daughter of Count Henry XV Reuß von Plauen and his wife Marie Salome von Oettingen-Oettingen. She was the third wife of Count Georg III zu Erbach, but died in 1591, just four years after they married and one year after the completion of this portrait.
