The authors date the Kota to the 19th century or early 20th century. A similar Kota, formerly in the collection of André Lhote, was sold by Sotheby’s Paris, 22 June 2016 as lot 80. Another, from the collection of André Malraux, was sold by Artcurial Paris on 19 June 2019 as lot 41.
