Stilleben mit Widderkopf, erlegten Vögeln, Tonkrug und Küchenutensilien. Öl/Lwd./Lwd
Nur wenige Werke können derzeit dem seltenen andalusischen Künstler Francisco Barranco zugeordnet werden, der ein Zeitgenosse von Juan de Zurbarán war und in Sevilla in den 1640/1650er Jahren tätig. Vorliegendes Gemälde lässt sich in Bezug auf die Darstellung und Auswahl der Gegenstände sehr gut mit einem anderen, nahezu formatidentischen Stilleben Barrancos vergleichen, das die Galerie Caylus, Madrid in eine Privatsammlung verkauft hat. Analogien gibt es ebenfalls zu einem weiteren Küchenstilleben des Künstlers, das sich in Neapel, Galleria Nazionale di Capodimonte befindet. Das vorliegende Gemälde ist publiziert und abgebildet in: In the Presence of Things: Four Centuries of European Still-Life Painting. Exhibition Catalogue Lisbon 2010, Bd. 1, S. 91, Tafel 62. Rest.
BARRANCO, FRANCISCO (active Sevilla c. 1640/50). Still-Life with a ram's head, game, an earthenware jug and other objects in a kitchen interior. Oil/canvas/canvas. Only a few works can currently be ascribed to the rare Andalusian artist, Francisco Barranco, who was a contemporary of Juan de Zurbarán and active in Seville in the 1640s and 1650s. Considering the choice and the depiction of the items one may easily compare the here presented painting with another still life painting by Barranco that is almost identical in format and which has been sold to a private collection through Gallery Caylus, Madrid. Similarities do also exist with yet another kitchen still life of the artist belonging to the Galleria Nazionale di Capodimonte, Naples. The present painting is published in: In the Presence of Things: Four Centuries of European Still-Life Painting. Exhibition Catalogue Lisbon 2010, vol. 1, p. 91, plate 62. Rest.
