Aage Roose studierte von 1899 bis 1900 an der Kunstakademie in Kopenhagen. Von 1901 bis 1905 war er Schüler von P.S.Kroyer und L.Tuxen. Abschließende Studien führten ihn 1905 bis 1906 an die Academie Colarossi nach Paris. Die Gemälde von Aage Roose folgen in Stil und Motiv der dänischen Maltradition und haben Gemeinsamkeiten sowohl mit den fünischen Landschaftsgemälden als auch mit Th. Phillipsens Tierbildern. Dänische und schwedische Landschaften mit und ohne Kühe waren ab den 1950er Jahren das Lieblingsmotiv von Aage Roose. - Aage Roose studied from 1899 to 1900 at the Art Academy in Copenhagen. From 1901 to 1905 he was a pupil of P.S.Kroyer and L.Tuxen. Final studies led him from 1905 to 1906 to the Academie Colarossi in Paris. The paintings of Aage Roose follow in style and motif of the Danish painting tradition and have in common both with the Funen landscape paintings and with Th. Phillipsens animal pictures. Danish and Swedish landscapes with and without cows were the favorite motifs of Aage Roose from the 1950s.
