Amsterdam, Desaint & Saillant, 1754. (16,5:10,5 cm). VIII, 215 S. Ldr. d. Zt. mit Rückenvergoldung, etwas berieben, untere Ecken bestoßen.
Blackmer 643; Atabey 470. - Erste Ausgabe, 1757 auch ins Deutsche übersetzt. "This very interesting work contains five separate essays. The first three are translations from Arabic and Turkish authorities; the last two are eye-witness accounts - one a long description of Chios... and the other a description of the marriage of Sultana Esma with Yakub Pasha, governor of Silistria" (Blackmer). Galland war ein Neffe des berühmten Orientalisten Antoine G. - Teilw. etwas gebräunt, gering fleckig, Titel mit altem Namenszug.
First edition. - Some browning, slight spotting, old name on title. Contemporary calf, spine gilt; some rubbing, lower corners bumped.
