Ausgaben mit 4 neuen anonymen Erdteilkarten, nicht zu verwechseln mit den Rosaccio-Karten der Ausgaben 1605, 1659 und 1671 (vgl. Burden 149). - Unterschiedlich gebräunt und teilw. etwas fleckig. Meist oben und unten wasserfleckig, zu Beginn stärker und auch im Bund (auch Europakte. betroffen) sowie oben rötlich verfärbt. Vereinzelt kl. Randläsuren, im 1. Tl. S. 203/4 u. S. 615/16 mit Randeinriß (der 1. bis in den Text). Asienkte. mit 2 Löchlein unten (1 im Bildrand). Late edition, with 4 engr. double-page maps of the continents. "For this issue by I. Giunti, a new set of copperplates was cut derived from those of earlier editions. The most noticeable difference is the addition of an unidentified line around the continent (of America). This feature is reminiscent of the 1595 Botero plate as published later by Rosaccio" (Burden 258). Rare variant with B.'s most famous work "Della ragion di stato", a refutation of Machiavelli, added. - Browning and foxing, waterstaining mainly at top and bottom, at beginning also to centerfold (also affecting first map of Europe) and with some reddish discoloration. Minor marginal defects, marginal tears to 2 leaves (1 affecting text), 2 small holes to map of Asia (1 affecting image). Bound in contemp. limp vellum, slight spotting, reddish discoloration to top of front cover, a few smaller defects.
