S. 97; Eneström 133-139, 166-167, 188-196, 228-232. - Die ersten vier Bände der unter diesem Titel seit 1750 fortgesetzten St. Petersburger Akademieschriften, darin enthalten insgesamt 23 Arbeiten von [strong]Leonard Euler.[/strong] Besonders erwähnt seien die beiden wichtigen Arbeiten zum "Eulerschen Polyedersatz" in Bd. 4: "Elementa doctrinae solidorum" u. "Demonstratio nonnullarum insignium proprietatum quibus solida hedris planis inclusa sunt praedita" (S. 109-140 u. 140-160, dazu 1 Kupfertaf.). 5 weitere bedeutende Beiträge stammen von [strong]Michail Lomonossow,[/strong] darunter in Bd. 1 "Meditationes de caloris et frigoris causa" u. "Tentamen theoriae de VI aeris elastica (mit Supplementum)" (S. 206-229, 230-244 u. 305-312, dazu 3 Kupfertaf.), in den er das Massenerhaltungsgesetz postuliert (dazu DSB VIII, 468 f.). - Gelegentlich etwas stockfl., Titel mit kl. Blindstempel, Vortitel mit Dublettenstempel (in Bd. 2 auch mit Hakenriß, in Bd. 4 mit schmalem Abschnitt am Fuß). Es fehlt Taf. 3 in Bd. 2 (zu einer Arbeit von G. W. Richmann). Innendeckel mit Exlibris u. Dublettenstempel der Princeton University Library. 4 vols. The first four issues of the new series of the St. Petersburg Journals, with important papers by [strong]Leonard Euler[/strong] and [strong]Mikhail Lomonosov,[/strong] including Euler's Polyhedral Formula and Lomonosov's statement of the principle of conservation of mass (cf. DSB VIII, 468 f.). - Some occasional foxing, small embossed stamp to title pages, duplicate-stamp to half-titles (1 half-title a bit torn, 1 cropped at foot), lacking 1 plate (not part of a Euler or Lomonosov paper). Half-cloth around 1900, somewhat rubbed and worn, with bookplate and deaccession-stamp of the Princeton University Library.
