Virginia. "Virginiae partis australis, et Floridae partis orientalis... nova descriptio". Altkol. Kupf.-Kte. bei G. Valk u. P. Schenk, um 1700. Mit 2 fig. Kart., je 2 Gebietswappen u. Windrosen sowie 3 Segelschiffen. 38:49 cm.
Burden 254.2; vgl. Koeman I, 9400:1B. - Letzter Zustand mit neuer Verlegeradresse. - Stellenweise leicht fleckig, Bugfalte gering leimschattig u. mit kl. Wurmspur oben im weiße Rand.
Second and last state of the Janssonius plate with imprint of Valk & Schenk, latitude and longitude lines added. This map was originally copied after the almost identical one by Blaeu (for differences between J.'s and B.'s plates see K. and B.), later then S. acquired the plate in the great sale of the Atlas Maior plates in 1694. - Contemp. col. Light spotting, minor browning to centerfold; small wormhole to outer white margin at top.
