Among the friends, Franz Xaver von Wulfen is especially important for his 'Plantae rariores Carinthiacae'" (Hunt). Wulfens Aufsatz befindet sich Bd. I, 147-163 u. II, 25-138. Unmittelbar anschließend der Erstdruck von Wulfens Abhandlung über den Kärntner Bleispat: "Minera plumbi spatiosa Carinthiaca" (II, 139-273), 1785 in erweiterter deutscher Übersetzung separat erschienen. Nach Wurzbach LVIII, 266 begründeten diese Arbeiten den wissenschaftlichen Ruhm des Frühalpinisten. Die Untersuchung des Bleispates wird II, 389-423 durch Jacquins "Exploratio chemica plumbii" fortgesetzt. "Various plates present new species" (Hunt), bemerkenswert das vorzügliche Kolorit der Kupfer, "das, unaufdringlich und exakt, sie vor so vielen anderen allzu übermalten auszeichnet" (Nissen S. 185). - Unbeschnitten. Text im Rand etwas gebräunt, Text von Bd. 2 etwas wasserrandig, Tafeln vereinzelt etwas fleckig, wenige mit hinterlegten kl. Randeinrissen, 1 Taf. mit kl. Verklebungungsstelle im Bild. 2 vols. First edition, with 44 engr. plates in particularly fine contemp. colouring, mostly of plants. - Uncut. Some browning to text, some dampmarking to text of vol. 2, slight staining to few plates, few restored small marginal tears, small lesion to image of 1 plate. Contemp. half-calf gilt, somewhat worn.
