"The book has some new features from the standpoint of presentation and pedagogy, but its astronomy remains Ptolemaic and Sacroboscan... The preface of January I, 1549, written before the 'Prutenic Tables' had appeared, expresses the hope that Reinhold will write as good a commentary on the 'Sphere' as he has written on Peurbach's 'New Theories of the Planets'." (Thorndike VI, 10 f.). - Gering gebräunt, vereinzelt minimale Wurmspuren, Titel mit klösterl. Besitzvermerken (teilw. rasiert), Schlußbl. u. 1 Tab. mit Federproben verso.
Early edition, the first to be printed outside of Germany. With 1 full page woodcut (sphere), several woodcut diagrams, and 2 folding tables. - Minor browning, insignificant worming here and there, conventual ownership inscriptions to title (partly erased), ink scribblings to verso of last leaf and 1 table. Contemp. limp vellum, a bit stained, ties lacking.
