"Das Werk verfolgt im einzelnen die Entwicklung des französischen Staatshaushaltes unter Sully, Mazarin, Colbert und seinen Nachfolgern bis zu John Law" (Sauer & Auvermann V, 1456). "Forbonnais was a leading representative of neomercantilism in the eighteenth century. Of the two fundamental ideas of mercantilism, bullionism and striving for independent nationhood, he particularly emphasized the latter, deeming money to be only a secondary means to national power" (ESS VI, 338). - Gering gebräunt. Bd. 1 ca. zur Hälfte, Bd. 2 durchgehend mit Wasserrand.
