"Arnald was the principal figure in Montpellier's fusion of the Western empirical tradition with the systematic medical philosophy of the Greeks and Arabs"[/strong] (DSB I, 290). - Leicht gebräunt, in den Rändern etwas stärker, teilw. auch wasserrandig, einige Bll. mit Randrestaurierungen, vereinzelt fleckig. Einige alte Marginalien u. Anstreichungen in Tinte, 2 Bll. mit Tintenwischern. Exlibris vom Innendeckel entfernt. Es fehlen Bl. 281 u. das Schlußblatt letzteres in gutem Faksimile auf altem Papier beigebunden. Extremely scarce first edition of the collected works of the famous Catalan physician. "Edited by Thomas Murchius, of Genoa. Includes: the Regimen Sanitatis of Mayno de' Mayneri, wrongly held by the editor to be plagiarized from Arnaldus; the Regimen sanitatis Salernitanum, with the commentary wrongly ascribed to Arnaldus; his commentary on Galenus' De inaequali intemperie (with text); and his translation of the De phisicis ligaturis of Kusta ibn Luka" (Durling). - Light browning, heavier browning and some dampstaining to margins, marginal restorations in places, occasional spotting, some early ink annotions and underlinings. Lacking 2 leaves (281 & 298), the latter supplied in facsimile. 17th century Dutch vellum tooled in blind, somewhat stained and worn, joints restored.
