Titel zweisprachig, Text komplett in griechisch. Prachtvoller Druck in den "Grecs du Roi" von Claude Garamont. - Titel u. erste Textseite mit Stempeln (2 französ. Schul- u. 1 kl. Sammlerstempel), letzte 2 Bll. etwas geknittert u. mit mehreren hinterlegten Fehlstellen (etwas Textverlust). First edition of Appian's histories of the various wars of the Roman Empire, one of three slightly different issues (there was some adjustment in the setting of the title-page) described by Mortimer. Greek text. "This volume is generally cited as the supreme example of the use of the Royal Greek types; it is, in fact, the first classical text printed in all three sizes of the 'grecs du roi'" (Schreiber). - Stamps to title and first leaf of text, some creasing and repaired holes with some loss of text affecting last two leaves. Contemp. limp vellum, somewhat stained, ties lacking.
