FIGURAL OIL LAMP
Bronze. Nepal, possibly 19th century
The bowl with bell-shaped foot and u-shaped handle, merging into five protruding sections formed as tiger-claws at the rim of the bowl; the front section of the bowl with five attached miniature bowls, shaped as tongues, and below decorated with a nude (female?) figure bearing an animal head, and shown with the hands raised as a bowl support; strong patina, traces of usage.

NEPAL, möglicherweise 19. Jh. Bronze
Glockenförmiger Fuß mit Schale mit langem U-förmigem Griff, der am Schalenrand in fünf Tierkrallen übergeht, die hochstehen. Vorne hat die Schale fünf kleine zungenförmige Nebenschalen angesetzt. Unterhalb von ihnen eine nackte (weibliche?) Figur mit Tierkopf und hochgehaltenen Armen, so als würde sie mit diesen und ihrem Kopf die Schalen tragen. Aus der Sammlung eines Tibeters.
