DECORATIVE VESSEL WITH NAGA
Bronze with paint gilding, Nepal, 20th century
An ornamental Nepalese bronze vessel with an outspread base with lotus leaf decorations, ribbed sides and a notched lip – a seven-headed Naga above the handles. On the same side as the spout, is a basin in the style of an oil-lamp with two leonine animals - directly on the vessel itself, a medallion depicting the elephant-headed deity Ganesha within a flaming aureole. The vessels bears a light lacquer gilding.

Ausgestellter Fuß mit Lotusblattdekor,gerippte Wandung, gekerbte Lippe. Über dem bogigen Henkel eine siebenköpfige Naga. Auf der Ausgußseite ein groß abstehendes Becken in der Art der Öllampen mit zwei löwenartigen Tieren. Direkt am Gefäß das Medaillon der elefantenköpfigen Gottheit Ganesha innerhalb flammender Aureole. Das Gefäß trägt eine leichte Lackvergoldung.
