VASE WITH DAMES AND SAMURAI
Satsuma ceramic with gilding. Japan, Meiji-period (1868 – 1912)
A small Satsuma vase, elaborately decorated in the „brocade-style“, with plenty of gold. In the two large pictorial reserves are large figural scenes in front of houses with a view of the landscape. On one side, two dames with an album in their hands. On the other, a samurai with Daisho, as well as a dame and boy. All the garments are rich in details. In the small cartouches, white Chrysanthemums. Very well preserved.

Eine kleinere Satsuma-Vase, aufwendig dekoriert im „Brokat-Stil“ mit viel Gold. In zwei großen Bildreserven sind figurale Szenen vor Häusern und mit Ausblick auf Landschaft. Auf einer Seite zwei Damen, eine mit Album in Händen. Auf der andern ein Samurai mit Daisho sowie Dame und Knabe. Alle Gewänder detailreich. In den kleinen Kartuschen weiße Chrysanthemen. Sehr gut erhalten.
