A WHITE JADE 'RHOMBUS BORDER' SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTY White jade with shades of russet, shiny surface polish. China, 19th centuryCarved in slight relief to depict a continuous Rhombus border design.Shape: Flattened rectangular form with outstandingly well-balanced outside proportions.Hollowing: GoodMouth, neck and lip: Elongated, slightly sprawling cylindric neck, flat top and wide mouth, the inner cylinder is not absolutely symmetric (1 mm deviation at the top).Base: Oval shape with thick raised foot rimStopper: Coral on a stained walrus ivory plateletHeight of the bottle with stopper: 7.6 cmWidth of the mouth: 7-8 mmWidth of the neck: 16 mmCondition: PerfectProvenance: Austrian Private CollectionLiterature comparison: Chinese Art.
