Deux verres de vin armoriés et gravés, milieu du XVIIIe siècle Two engraved armorial wine glasses, mid-18th century One English, with a conical bowl later decorated with the Royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of France beneath a crown, the shield encircled by the collars of the Orders of St Michael and the Holy Spirit, with two crossed sceptres behind, flanked by ivy tendrils, on a plain stem and folded conical foot, 18.1cm high, the other Lauenstein, the round funnel bowl with a solid teared base, decorated with an elaborate coat of arms, on a teared inverted baluster stem and high folded domed foot, 18.3cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance: With Heide Hübner Kunsthandel, 11 December 1978 (English glass) Christian von Reitzenstein Collection Whilst the English glass is 18th century in date, the French Royal arms depicted were not used until the reign of King Louis VXIII (1814/15-1824), following the Bourbon Restoration.
