A limited edition Murano clear and amethyst-black glass chess and draughts set, together with a white lacquered wood and clear glass chess table with separate mirrored glass chess board top ensuite Italian, circa 2000, manufactured for for Reflex, Biancade, Italy, the chess set designed by Riccardo Lucatello, numbered 10/100 The blown glass chess set with kings moulded with baluster bodies, the queens of banded tapering form, the bishops as circular obelisks, the knights as horses heads, the rooks as stylised circular castellated keeps, the pawns of ovoid baluster form, the draughts of wavy edged circular form, one side clear with frosted finish, the other clear with amethyst-black banded inner borders, the table with moulded shallow square top with twin sliding counter wells and separate mirrored square board top, raised on four baluster knopped and sharply tapering clear blown glass legs, the chess pieces with etched edition numbers 10/1000 to the underside, some pieces with applied VETRO ARTISTICO, MURANO clear film labels, the clear king, 19.5cm high, the amethyst-black king, 18cm high, the pawns, 10.5-11.5cm high approximately, the draughts, 6cm diameter, 1cm high, the mirrored board, 1cm high, 110cm wide, 110cm deep, the table, 78cm high, 109cm wide, 109cm deep This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: TP TP For auctions held in Scotland: Lots will be moved to an offsite storage location (Constantine, Constantine House, North Caldeen Road, Coatbridge ML5 4EF, Scotland, UK) and will only be available for collection from this location at the date stated in the catalogue. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
