Seven English delftware plates and a bowl, mid-18th century Two painted in blue, including one in the so-called 'Squirrel and Vine' pattern and one with stylised fruit and flowers, a small plate with stylised motifs in blue and manganese, the others painted in polychrome predominantly in blue, green and manganese, one octagonal, probably Liverpool, painted with flowering plants issuing from rockwork, one with a landscape of four houses among trees, one with a chinoiserie garden incorporating a fence, the last and the bowl both with identical designs of flowering plants and bamboo, some with painters numerals and letters, 17.1-23cm diam (8) Footnotes: Provenance Dennis Cockell Collection (houses) Moreton Collection, Sotheby's, 26 July 1982, lot 239 ('Squirrel and Vine') With Anthony Belton, 1982 ('Squirrel and Vine') With Garry Atkins, 1991 (last mentioned plate) With Lennard Antiques, 1994 (octagonal plate) With Aurea Carter, 2001 (small plate) Graham Slater Collection The 'Squirrel and Vine' pattern is based on a popular Chinese design also known as 'Rat and Vine'. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
