Two English delftware wall pockets, circa 1760-70 Probably Liverpool, one of cornucopia form, moulded with a bird perched on a branch below a shell and foliate border, picked out in blue, 20.5cm high, the other moulded with masks of Flora and a Satyr and exuberant scrollwork, left in the white, 20.2cm high (2) Footnotes: Provenance With Anthony Belton, 1982 (blue example) Graham Slater Collection A version of the example with a bird painted with 'Fazackerly' type pigments in the Fitzwilliam Museum is illustrated by Michael Archer, Delftware (2013), p.313, I.17. Illustrated at I.16 is an example similar to the second wall pocket, where the mask and scrolled moulding differs slightly and is less well defined, which presumably encouraged the maker to add cobalt decoration.
