FRAGMENTE EINER ATTISCH-SCHWARZFIGURIGEN AMPHORA (GRUPPE VON TORONTO 305?) H. max. 22.5 cm. Oranger attischer Ton, schwarzer Glanzton, Deckweiss. Attisch, um 500 v.C.Die Vorderseite zeigt Herakles im Amazonenkampf; der Held kämpft in der Mitte mit gezogenem Schwert gegen zwei Amazonen. Auf der Rückseite steht Dionysos, der seinen Arm um seine verschleierte Gattin Ariadne legt, zwischen zwei tanzenden Silenen. Deckweiss für die Haut der weiblichen Figuren, rote Deckfarbe für die Bärte der männlichen Figuren und Punkte auf dem Löwenfell des Herakles. Teilweise zusammengesetzt, stellenweise berieben und bestossen.Provenienz: Ehem. CVA Bochum (1) 39-40, Beil. 9.3, Taf. 28.3-4, 30.1-2, 31.8. Die Komposition der Rückseite hat ein Gegenstück auf einer Amphora der Drei Linien Gruppe, Rugby School 11, s. ABV 321.9. H. max. 22.5 cm. Orange Attic clay, lustrous black clay paint, added white. Attic, ca. 500 B.C.The obverse is decorated with Herakles in the centre fighting two Amazons with drawn sword. On the reverse Dionysos stands in the centre, his arm placed around the shoulders of his wife Ariadne, between two dancing satyrs. Added white for skin of female figures, added red for beards of males and dots on Herakles’ lion skin.
